Needed to get out of Philadelphia for couple of days. Haven’t been to LBI for 6 years since moving to Oregon. Before we used to come to LBI few times a year and always out of the busy season. It’s hard to find a good place to stay in the winter but Engleside is open year round. Right on the beach. And they haven’t changed except upgrades in furnishings. Always very clean and comfortable rooms. No frills but very consistent. The stuff is amazing. Very accommodating. Housekeeping does a great job!! If you want to wake up to a beautiful sunrise and see the ocean you want to be on the 3rd floor of the hotel!!! And it’s usually protected from prevailing winds. They have great beds and the most comfortable pillows I’ve ever encountered in any hotel. And since I travel for work and spend up to 8 months in hotel rooms I was super impressed. Not uncommon to find good beds but this is the 1st time I’ve had such a great pillow
They have room service and outstanding restaurant which is always very consistent.
Out of season there are not that many “eateries” that are open so to have an option of just walking across the parking lot and get awesome food is amazing. Definitely worth coming back. It also just happened to be in my favorite part of the island. On the side note, when it’s not freezing we’ve watched surfers and dolphins catching waves from the balcony which is also private

I have stayed at many of the hotels in LBI, and this for sure is one of the top ones. The hotel is on the beach. The hotel has a great restaurant and pool for during the day! And the location is perfect…walking distance to all the fun stuff in Beach Haven!

Once again we had a wonderful October vacation at the Engleside Inn!. Everything was great at the Engleside Inn- the rooms are clean and comfortable and the ocean view can not be beat. The staff were friendly and helpful and weather was perfect. I am already looking forward to our visit next October.

Family stayed at the Engleside Inn recently for a Fall family wedding in LBI. The accommodations were excellent. Returned home and definitely booking for a family summer vacation. Want to enjoy the pool, beach, and whole LBI area in general.

My wife, our giant newfie buzzy and I spent four relaxed days On The island while our house was painted. Started our days with some great breakfast in Beachhaven and we took long walks on the bay side.Coming back to the room for lunch it was nice to have a full size fridge for cold heinekens. We had good parking right at the door, and the pool and the beach were steps away. We stay at lots of hotels in our travels, and rates right at 5 the top.

Just returned from the Engleside having spent 6 nights there…Lunch at the Sandbar is a must! Spent most of my time in the pool which is heated BTW…My husband and I have been vacationing there for 20 years or so. The rooms are clean, the staff is wonderful, the beach is wide, the restaurants are fabulous. Walking distance to many other restaurants and shopping. We usually leave our car at the Engleside and walk everywhere.

Had a terrific experience at the Engleside Inn. My husband and I stayed in the efficiency suite with our dog, Bella, and had a great time. Staff was friendly, room and property were clean, and the beach was wonderful and well-kept. Very pet friendly. The food at the restaurant was delicious. Bella loved the beach and ocean! Look forward to our next stay at the Engleside!

The Engleside has been our home away from home for the last 20 years. We travel the country but when we want a relaxing long- weekend, it is the Engleside. Rooms with ocean views are great, the corner suites even better. One of the many wonderful things about the Engleside is that they allow dogs to stay during ‘shoulder’ season. The food is very good in the restaurant….but the Sand Bar is where we love to spend time. Relaxed, fun and great service; the burgers are awesome, the grilled fish tacos addicting and the clam strips award winning. We now own in Beach Haven and lunch at the Sand Bar has become a staple.

I’ve stayed here for over 20 years, and have avoided reviewing the hotel because I’ve questioned my objectivity. I do not own the Engleside, or any property on the island, but after a lifetime of vacationing on the island, 20-some years of it at the Engleside, I feel that maybe I know it better. The island is rebuilding after amazing damage, but I just spent several days and have to say that the hotel is just as it has been during my earlier visits. The staff are helpful, the rooms are super clean, and the oceanfront room view is still wonderful! Bed is comfy with big fluffy duvet, and the big chair is a great place to watch the beach while the wind whips around outside! (rooms vary-your room and view may be different!)LBI is rebuilding, but the spirit of the people there is strong and I would not hesitate to return. The beach is still beautiful, the ocean is still fascinating, and the Engleside is still comfortable and friendly.Stayed February 2013, traveled as a couple.

Lovely! Right on the beach. Very nice restaurant with sushi bar, pool area with a bar and of course the wonderful beach! We like coming here in the off season; however summer is a great time too. I think you get more peace in the spring or fall! We always return to LBI, hurricane or not.

Clean rooms. We were here for Thanksgiving dinner. The food was fabulous! Everything you could want for a Thanksgiving meal without all the preparation and clean-up 🙂 Would definitely do it again.

Love the Sand Bar. Great bar, afternoon entertainment, beach access, pool. Can’t ask for more!

The Engleside Inn has been in my family for a very long time – dating back to when my adult children were growing up!! It has been the root of very many fun summers on LBI – and now – finding myself in a situation where my trailer in Holgate has been damaged with flood water – I needed a place to go for a hot shower, meal, and a comfortable place to sleep. Holgate has no power, electric, or running water at this time. The Engleside Inn provided us with all of this and even let us check into the room early – go to the trailer – and come back to spend the night!! I cannot say enough about the accommodating management here – I have said it before and I will say it again – this place rocks!! Thank you Engleside!!Stayed November 2012, traveled with family

November 17 & 18, 2012, residents of decimated Holgate on LBI, were given the opportunity to return to their homes for a grab-n-go. Because the damage to my home was so extensive, I opted to reserve a room @ The Engleside Inn for a hot shower and a soft place to lay my weary head. Mike offered me the option to check in upon arrival to the island, 9 am, and check out @ 5 pm, the following day, in order to grab a shower after sifting through contaminated belongings. On top of his kindness, I had an oceanfront room. It had two glorious queen beds covered with crisp, white linens. I recently stayed at the Boca Raton Yacht Club for 2 1/2 times the amount of money, and hands down, The Engleside Inn was my favorite place. Again, thank you for your support and compassion through such a difficult time.Stayed November 2012, traveled on business

Another wonderful vacation at the Engleside Inn. Always clean, friendly and the weather was perfect. Our dogs love the efficiency suite – they think its home away from home. I recommend anyone staying for more than a few days, to book the efficiency suite. Full kitchen, living room and separate bedroom. Lots of room for the dogs to run and play. See you in the Spring.

Great place to stay. Love the lobster bisque in the Leeward Room. Clean rooms. Kids loved the pool. Parents loved the Sand Bar 😉 Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful stay in an oceanfront room with a balcony. The spacious room was nicely decorated (it all looked very new) with a flat screen TV, small refrigerator, microwave and a Jacuzzi. The balcony had comfortable chairs and lounges. The king size bed was made with fresh linens which included a duvet cover which meant no bedspreads or quilts that others had used. (A big plus with me.) There was an outdoor beach bar for light fare and drinks and a very good restaurant on the property. The beach was only steps away, and all the shops on the Boulevard were only a two-block walk. And best of all we could bring our dog. (And there was a great park right across the street to walk him.) We will definitely be going back!

We spent 4 lovely nights/5 days at The Engleside Inn in Beach Haven, NJ and would have to say, we’d always return! From our check in at 8pm, there was someone there to take our luggage up to the 2nd floor (no elevators) to the checkout Friday, the staff was terrific. The Inn is very spacious and we stayed in one of the “motel rooms” which had a fairly large fridge and a coffee maker. They also have suites as well as kitchenettes, but since The Inn is walkable to wonderfully fun restaurants and we chose to do that. We could sit on the balcony and watch the ocean easily. The restaurants, both the sushi bar – better than any I’ve ever eaten in – as well as the main restaurant there were excellent. Best on the island definitely. The bar is friendly and full. The Sand Bar, the bar/cafe by the pool and yet again on the ocean, was full of good drinks and good food. The entire place is directly on the beach, so if it too rough for you in the ocean, go to the pool. The price was good and the room, as well as the entire place, was clean. Lovely place. Will return.Stayed September 2012, traveled as a couple

My family and I have been going to the engleside for the last two mothers day! I asked for a room off the ground floor because it can get noisy. The put us in a great room over the restaurant and it was tons of room for my family of 4. This time of year is great no one is down for another two weeks so the beach is ours, but you better like dogs because they come out by the dozens because they can’t go on the beach after memorial day and the weather tends to be really nice this time of year! See you next mothers day!Stayed May 2012, traveled with family

We had one of our most enjoyable weekends at the beach staying at Engleside Inn. We were in room 307 which is a suite with 2 doubles. We were told that it had a nice deck that overlooked the courtyard, but it was far nicer than that. We had a great view to the ocean. The room was clean and functional. We had a mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker. We really enjoyed the location being able to get to restaurants, shopping, etc. very easily and still having the quiet of the hotel. We were traveling with our 4-year-old so we only ate at the beach bar which was just as you would expect of a beach bar. We would travel back here in a heartbeat.Stayed May 2012, traveled with family

I found the Engleside to be the perfect location for [our family]. I also found the staff to be very pleasant. We were traveling to the Inn a day after Hurricaine Irene and I was amazed at how quickly LBI and the hotel were back in action. The hotel staff notified us to arrive a day later and we were able to stay a day later as well. The location is wonderful, right on the beach with a great pool bar and nice acoustic music in the afternoon. We had an ocean view efficiency that was neat and clean with a balcony from which you can hear the tunes. It was very peaceful at night. The food at the pool bar was great for lunch. There are several really cute things to do with the kids within walking distance from the Inn. I would highly recommend this Inn as well as Beach Haven for young families.Stayed August 2011, traveled with family

We’ve been going to at the Engleside for over 20 years. Once in the ‘off season’ so we can bring our dogs. They are very pet friendly in the off season and the dogs love the beach. I’ve always felt welcomed by the staff and they always treat us like family. We return in the summer, just the two of us. It’s always a very busy area with tons of things to do. I suggest that you check out the rooms as they differ greatly. Some are simply motel type rooms, others have balconies, some have kitchenettes and some have a great view of the ocean. Like anything else, you get what you pay for. Of course things are more expensive ‘in season’. We have always loved having a kitchenette and breakfast on the balcony. It’s just a short walk to the Surflight Theater or the supermarket. Always clean, always friendly. And I just booked us for another weekend!Stayed June 2011, traveled with family

Best of the beach with excellent food. Rooms are updated and the restaurant is a favorite of visitors and locals alike. There is even an early-bird menu for those inclined and a variety of specials during the week. As an extra added attraction, the Engleside has one of the best Sushi bars on the island.Stayed July 2011, traveled with family
