LBI

LBI, as Long Beach Island is known in the local lingo, is a beach lover’s paradise. Even at the widest point of this 18-mile-long island strewn with small shore towns and long stretches of white sand, you’re never more than half a mile from the other side.

In the north part of the island is Barnegat Light, which encompasses Barnegat Lighthouse and the commercial fishing port of Viking Village. Also in the north are the relaxed towns of Loveladies, North Beach, and Harvey Cedars.

Head south to find bustling Surf City, Ship Bottom, and to the far south, Beach Haven — the island’s premier tourist destination and home to the Engleside Inn.

Here in Beach Haven you’ll find the family-oriented Fantasy Island Amusement Park and miniature golf.  Need a break from the sandy beach?  Beach Haven is also home to Thundering Surf Water Park, which features water slides, super soaker water guns, giant tipping bucket and much more.  The town is also a popular shopping destination, offering a variety of stores from surf shops to fudge kitchens to ice cream parlors and specialty stores.  And restaurants abound in Beach Haven.

So whether you’re bringing your bathing suit and sun tan oil, your golf clubs and tennis rackets, your fishing rod and surf board, or simply an insatiable appetite for the best of Jersey Shore dining, those seeking leisure recreation and amusements will find plenty to see and do when visiting Long Beach Island.
